Need to know where to donate furniture in Richmond, VA? You may be clearing up space in the garage, redecorating your home, preparing for a move, or even helping an aging family member transition to a new home. There are many charities and organizations that pick up furniture and accept donations in good condition.
When you donate furniture, you can qualify for a tax deduction when itemizing your taxes. The amount that’s deductible is based on the fair market value of your donated items. Here’s the Goodwill furniture valuation guideline that offers a typical market value for items which can be adjusted based on the quality and condition of what you donate. The IRS also has guidelines in Publication 561.
Before donating furniture, make sure you check the organization’s guidelines on what is and is not accepted. Some organizations only accept small furniture, and many (but not all!) do not accept mattresses.
Here are the best places for Richmond furniture donation. Make sure you contact each organization directly as On the Fly Moving Guys doesn’t help with furniture pickup and donation. We are here to help with a move, though!
